Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability that is characterised by difficulty with social interaction and communication. An increase in autism awareness helps those living with ASD and society in many ways. This course explores the social perceptions of autism, the challenges people with autism face and the inclusive practices you can use to support them. We lay out the types of autism, its causes, symptoms, diagnosis and more.
